The school cannot succeed without the support of the parents. We encourage you to trust in your child’s education and ask that you support the school in every aspect of school life.
This is an “open” school, i.e. we welcome parents in at any time, indeed you are actively encouraged to come in, though it must be understood that class teachers are not allowed to discuss pupils’ work with parents unless an appointment to do so has been made through the Headmaster beforehand.
As well as the individual visits to school, parents have three more formal opportunities to visit the school during the course of the year. We hold two Open Evenings and an Open Day annually. In addition to these Open Evenings, we normally give a Concert or Carol Service at Christmas and invite parents to our Sports Day. You are encouraged to join in all these activities together with the activities organised by the Friends of the School Association.
It is most important that parents realise the value of an honest and open relationship between themselves and the school. We all have a common objective, namely providing the best possible education for your children. That partnership is crucial to the success of our objectives; it depends upon good communication and co-operation between home and school at all times.
